Wales 39 – 15 Hong Kong
Wales were given a shock by Hong Kong in their final World Cup Group match in Dublin.
Hong Kong, who were criticised by many after their 100+ point loss to New Zealand, took an early lead through a try by Natasha Olson-Thorne and at the end of the first half were only one score behind.
Wales lacked composure and struggled to pull away from the debutants to the World Cup.
Tries from Powell-Hughes, Phillips, Joyce, and a brace from Kavanagh-Williams made the score more acceptable but a lot of questions will be asked about their performance.
They now go on to the play-offs to decide the fifth to eighth places.
