Dragons’ Head Coach Bernard Jackman has announced that Barry Maddocks has joined his coaching team as Skills Coach.

These recent appointments confirm the set-up of Jackman’s coaching team for the coming season as he joins head coach with Defence Coach Hendre Marnitz, Forwards Coach Ceri Jones and Backs Coach Shaun Connor at the Dragons.

Barry Maddocks moves to the Dragons as Skills Coach from Aviva Premiership side Bath Rugby where he was Assistant Academy Manager.

The former Aberavon player has previously coached Wales U16s as well as coaching England sevens, both men and women.

Dragons Head Coach, Bernard Jackman commented: “Barry has been on my radar for a while as he is an outstanding skills coach.

“He is from Wales but has picked up valuable experience in England through working at both Hartbury and Bath.”

Jackman continued: “We need to make sure that all of our players, both young and old, have access to someone of his expertise to help them develop the all-round skill set that is required to play elite rugby.”
